The Grand Union, which operates pubs and bars in London area has produced their own currency which is sold to customers lower than face value and to be tendered at a later date in any of their pubs !

Grand Union - Ravenscourt ParkThe scheme starts on September 1st and patrons will be able to purchase ‘GU Vouchers’ with a face value of £60 for £50, with rising quantities going as far as £600 worth of vouchers available for £500. The owner of the Grand Union Group,  Adam Marshall said: “Times are tough for many at the moment, so we’ve decided to cheer everyone up with some genuinely free money. There really are no catches”
